Newton Lee is a visiting professor of Information Technology, specializing in game design and artificial intelligence. He is the editor-in-chief of the Encyclopedia of Computer Graphics and Games, president of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships, and the author and editor of numerous academic books in science, technology, and society.

Lee was the founder of Disney Online Technology Forum, creator of AT&T Bell Labs' first-ever commercial artificial intelligence tool, inventor of the world's first annotated multimedia OPAC for the U.S. National Agricultural Library, and the longest-serving editor-in-chief in the history of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) for the Computers in Entertainment magazine.

Lee holds a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Virginia Tech, and an electrical engineering degree and honorary doctorate from Vincennes University.
