1. Must qualify for placement into MATH 016 or higher as determined by the Vincennes University Placement Test (ACCUPLACER).

2. Applicants must provide a valid 1st or 2nd class pilot medical certificate from a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved aviation medical examiner.

3. Complete a 1000-word essay explaining what you know about the VU Aviation Flight program and why you have chosen Vincennes University

4. Applicants must provide a valid driver’s license & birth certificate OR a valid passport to show proof of identification.

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the Indiana FAFSA deadline April 15th each year. There is no application deadline for federal aid.

WHAT MEDICAL CONDITIONS DOES THE FAA CONSIDER DISQUALIFYING?

The following conditions are listed in the regulations as disqualifying medical conditions; however, in many cases when the condition is adequately controlled, the FAA will issue medical certifications contingent on periodic reports.

  • Angina Pectoris
  • Bipolar disease
  • Cardiac valve replacement
  • Coronary heart disease that has been treated or, if untreated, that has been symptomatic or clinically significant
  • Diabetes mellitus requiring hypoglycemic
  • Disturbance of consciousness without satisfactory explanation of cause
  • Epilepsy
  • Heart replacement
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Permanent cardiac pacemaker
  • Personality disorder that is severe enough to have repeatedly manifested itself by overt acts
  • Psychosis
  • Substance abuse / dependence
  • Transient loss of control of nervous system function(s) without satisfactory explanation of cause
